Kathys fluid paintings of poppies and soldiers for the Remembrance Day Stamp Collection for the Jersey Post – with their predominance of red and green makes this issue quite special.
Each stamp can be planted after use with its inclusion of an embedded poppy seed within its surface – so that the memorial continues year after year.
This was a wonderful opportunity for Kathy to get her head around a ‘concept led’ project and came as a welcome challenge.
Jersey Post says of this issue ”The set of six stamps and Miniature Sheet present an artistic representation of ‘Remembrance ‘. Delicate watercolours of fields of poppies provide iconic symbols to commemorate the historic and significant occasion of the Centenary of the World Wars.
