A Dream Job

Can you imagine being given a full range of art materials, and asked to experiment freely and come up with an image that reflects their qualities?
This was the reality of working with Faber Castell and Kathys relationship with her client.
Creative freedom begets magical results and Kathy spent many happy hours, possibly days, playing with all the Faber Castell materials, and a variety of papers.

Once she had approval of her proposal to explore the beauty of pigment in water- the fun really began.
She had been pretty inspired by their water soluble ranges of graphite, crayon, felt tip and marker pens and suggested recording the results photographically with a macro lens as she progressed, and that these wet and flowing images be the artwork.

The resulting image launched the Limited Edition ‘Black Box’ of materials
